cardsociety

As an aficionado of letterpress printing, one of the things I would love to treat myself to this year is a membership to The Card Society.  It was started in 2006 by Maria Alexandra Vettese (who’s collaborative work with Stephanie Congdon Barnes, via blog & book, I greatly admire) and is available in one, three, six, and twelve month memberships.  With purchase, you receive two letterpress-printed cards per month of your membership.  With so much being sent via email these days, it’s so lovely to get a hand written note or card in the mail.  Although, after looking at some of the past work The Card Society has created, I’m not sure I’d be able to use the cards to pass on to other people!  Perhaps instead I’d also treat the fellow designers and lovers of paper & stationery in my life as well.

That’s it!  Our tickets are booked!  My husband, Jeff (shown above, on the right), and I have been dying to attend the World Beard & Mustache Championships, and this time it’s really happening!  Jeff has been faithfully growing his beard so he can enter the contest, and I can’t wait to root him on.  We can’t wait to see the many interesting and creative ways to grow and style facial hair.  Jeff really wants to spend the time leading up to the competition diligently grooming and coiffing his final look.  I promise to post all our photos of our trip and the entire event!

… APRIL FOOLS! Just kidding!  We are totally not going to the World Beard & Mustache Championships, although I think if we had opportunity I know we both really would.  Jeff actually doesn’t even HAVE a beard right now, that photo was from 2 years ago.  But he sometimes teases that he’ll grow it back (please, no!).  Can you believe some of those looks?  I have to hand it to them, those men really put a lot of effort into their facial hair.

So instead, I’ll leave you with a few crafty mustache items from Etsy.

Now it’s your turn… what’s your April Fool’s Day joke?
