We’re still stuck in this rainy, deary, and fairly cold (for summer, at least) weather and I think people on the upper east coast are pretty darn sick of this.  We tend to have 4-5 months of straight winter, so when summer comes around we want every single day of those 3 months.  To brighten my mood (can you tell the weather is affecting me?) I’m checking out the site of studio choo (found via Oh Joy!).  An off-shoot from small stump, their site is like a breath of fresh summer air: colorful, playful, and full of gorgeous flower arrangements.  They’re giving me plenty of flower ideas for my sister’s upcoming baby shower, which I’m helping host in August.

My husband finally finished his graduate program this past weekend and graduated as a Master of Fine Arts (Yay! Congrats Babe!).  The past several weeks have been a whirlwind for us both (but especially for him) as he presented his thesis, had to finish, frame, and hang his graduate work, attend the opening at the school’s gallery as well as his graduation toast, among many other things.  I juggled attending many of these events on top of my regular schedule as well as cleaned the house and threw a graduation party for him this past weekend (*to which I was so overwhelmed by my to-do’s that I actually forgot to take a single photo: major blogging disappointment).  Since graduating, he has promptly burnt himself out and has come down with a flu-like cold.  So, being the good wife that I am, I’ve already made two soups for him and am working on a third.  We are both big fans of pho, the tradtional Vietnamese noodle soup, and since trying a few recipes from Steamy Kitchen I know I can trust that her recipe will be great.  I’ll be making him Pho Ga (Vietnamese Chicken Noodle Soup) and I’ll have to make sure to make extra for me.  Having also been “burning the candle at both ends” as my Mom would say, I’ve got to look out to stay healthy and not get sick too!  Someone’s got to stay well enough to make yummy homemade soup.
