There’s a delicious looking recipe for Rhubarb Syrup (to make your own rhubarb cocktail or mocktail). I’ve never thought of using rhubarb in a drink, but then again a few years ago my mind was blown when I started adding fresh berries to my salads. This is one recipe I’m anxious to try on those warm, spring afternoons.

My garden is in full spring bloom right now. The magnolia is probably the most gorgeous, bursting with white and pink blooms floating along like little delicate teacups on every thin branch. To stand underneath it reminds me of being underneath layers of fluffy feathers or a tulle and crinoline petticoat. There are other blooms, but most are simple and small: wild violets, veronica, glory of the snow, grape hyacinth, and tete-a-tete. There’s still the May blooms to come (lilac, candytuft, jacob’s ladder, and all the tulips, to name a few) but I’m definitely enjoying this truly glorious April in my garden.

Unlike vinyl stickers, Mae makes fabric stickers which are removable and completely reusable. And very cute, to say the least! Check out their Etsy shop for sticker sets like birds, forest animals, monsters, dress up dolls and more.

Loving these fresh, super spring colors that make me think of sherbet and melon from Rifle Design’s The Wedding Shoebox Palette (found via their blog). I’m totally falling for a pale mint green all over again.

Really inspired by all of Susie Cowie’s art, but especially her lace work. There’s something about handmade lace, I really adore it.

A big congrats to SIMPLESONG Design, Kate Headley Photography, and Ritzy Bee Events for the official opening of The Hive at 1511 in Washington D.C area. The space looks amazing they’ve obviously been working very hard; it appears no detail was overlooked designing the space. What a wonderful creative space to visit and take workshops in. I wish I was closer to D.C. so I could visit or take a workshop (I’d really love to take the digital camera workshop with Kate!) Thanks for being such an inspiration! Congrats!

Loving the photos from Joo & Jacob’s wedding over on Once Wed today. The invites and printed materials are gorgeous and I love when people use hen & chicks in their floral displays. Oh, and did I mention they had a stunning dessert table?

The fresh color palette and this idea for a pancake breakfast is making my heart sing this morning! Breakfast truly is my favorite meal of the day.

The garden has been literally springing to life this past weekend. The warm weather is really making things pop, bloom, and grow. Here’s a few things that caught my eye as I poked around the yard:

(bright yellow forsythia in full bloom)

(wild violet beginning to sprout up from the dirt)

(buds beginning to open and bloom on every branch)

(bleeding heart growing taller everyday)
There’s so much green in the garden at the moment, and against the brown dirt and trees it’s very striking. I do really like the starkness of winter, but there’s nothing like seeing that vibrant green in the spring!
What’s going on in your garden?
