Camping Fever

Friday, May 28th, 2010

I cannot tell you how excited I am for today.  I haven’t been camping in two years, and I do think I haven’t had a night away with my husband in that long as well.  We’re going into the Berkshires for a mini vacation surrounded by woods and wildlife.  Unfortunately we waited until the last moment to reserve a campsite, so we’ll be staying at one of those family/RV-ish private campgrounds (apparently there’s all ages bingo Saturday night…) because all the national and state park campgrounds were booked solid.  I don’t mind as long as we can get a site that’s a bit further away from all the hub-bub.  I plan on reading, hiking, sunbathing, spending every minute with my husband and on Sunday I’ll be running a 5K race.  To be able to run a 5K was one of my goals for the new year, and this one will actually be my second race so far.  I’ve already started my 10K training and hope to run a 10K in the late summer.  This race should be interesting as it will be out at Tanglewoods and the location is beautiful.  Anywho, back to the camping… here’s a few images that have me very excited for the weekend…

Lauren & Leo Letterpress Invitations

These letterpress invitations designed and printed by Sarah Parrott of Parrott Design Studio are gorgeous.  Love the calligraphy by Betsy Dunlap, as well as those stunning envelope liners.

Summertime

Wednesday, May 26th, 2010

Yesterday was the first unofficial day of summer here in New England.  It reached over 90 degrees in my neighborhood and it truly felt like the start of the season.  These images from last year’s Summer Social (via unruly things) are getting me really excited for summer (my favorite of the four seasons)!

English Farmhouse

Two things that I love dearly: England (and anything British) and cottages.  This house (via frolic!) looks like my dream home!

Dan & Emily’s Virginia Farm Wedding

Friday, May 21st, 2010

I can’t help but miss the planning and designing of our wedding, and if I could wave a magic wand and do it all over again (without worrying about a budget) I’d want to get married outside on a farm.  Dan & Emily’s wedding on the groom’s family farm in Virginia looks pretty much perfect to me!

Rifle Recipe Boxes

Thursday, May 20th, 2010

Loving these handmade recipe boxes (from reclaimed wood, then silkscreened) from Rifle Paper Co. shown at this year’s National Stationery Show.  Would love to have one to store all my recipes in.

Behind Kate Spade

Wednesday, May 19th, 2010

These images are enough to make my designer mouth drool, but also being a fan of Kate Spade makes me curious to see the goings-on of the company and brand as well.  Check out the thought process of the latest Kate Spade campaign here (found via Oh Joy!).  Those colors are really getting me in the mood for summer!

Late Spring Floral Heaven

Tuesday, May 18th, 2010

Spent some time in the garden this weekend, and all I have is one word for you: lilacs.  Oh my god, are they heaven on earth!  You can be anywhere in the entire yard (even in the front, but the lilacs are out back) and the wind will carry it’s heavenly scent to you.  Why, oh why, can’t lilac season last forever?

Eric Ravilious

I’m really fawning over these paintings by Eric Ravilious (via Katy Elliot).  The simplicity of the color palette is so striking.
