Travels in Europe

Tuesday, November 30th, 2010

Have you been keeping up with Amy Merrick and her sister’s current travels in Europe?  It’s making me completely crazy to visit Europe (as if I wasn’t wanting to, ha!).  Definitely check our her blog updates.  Here’s a few favorites of their excursion to Bruges.

10 Years

Monday, November 29th, 2010

A decade ago today, I started dating the love of my life.  It honestly felt like one day we didn’t know each other, and then the next we were a part of each others lives like we had been there all along.  Everyday I thank my lucky stars that we’re together.  Through all the many ups and downs, I’m so blessed to have my best friend by my side through thick and thin.  Love you, Mr. Ellse!

To all of you who celebrate Turkey Day in the States, have a very happy Thanksgiving!  May your bounty be full of good food, time with family, and lots of laughs.

I’ll be back here on Monday!

This home is stunning!  Oh how I would love to live here.  Looks so very British to me.

Cross Country Letterpress

Monday, November 22nd, 2010

With letterpress being the oldest form of printing, but most people today not remembering or knowing what it is, Kyle Durrie from Power and Light Press is doing a fantastic thing by putting a table top press and a proofing press into a truck and bringing letterpress printing to the masses.  She’ll be stopping at colleges, schools, craft fairs, and other spots to help explain letterpress to people through experiencing it themselves in person.  She’s still in the planning stages, so to find out more about her project stop here and please make a donation to help sponsor her undertaking.  Great idea, Kyle!

Grey Days

Friday, November 19th, 2010

Most of November so far has been pretty bleak: grey skies, chilly and cold, sometimes rainy for days on end, and for me personally very difficult.  Hoping December’s Christmas celebrations add a little more color and happiness… when things are hard, the weather always seems to make them feel doubly so.

Charlotte Farmer

Thursday, November 18th, 2010

Currently “oogling” and “aaahing” over all of Charlotte Farmer’s work.  I love her work!  She’s got such amazing line quality.  Check out her blog too.  I love, love, love those teacups and sugar spoons…  And snow globes.  Oh dear, I love all of it!

Matchbox Advent Calendar

Wednesday, November 17th, 2010

I still can’t believe Thanksgiving is next week, but that means that Christmas is right around the corner as well.  Found this advent calendar after perusing the blogs for holiday craft ideas.  Who knew a bunch of matchboxes and a hot glue gun would create such a lovely craft for the holidays?  You can never go wrong with hiding chocolates for 25 days in December.

Mav’s Favorite Dress

Tuesday, November 16th, 2010

Love this post from Mav on 3191 Miles Apart on how she takes her favorite dress and makes multiple outfit options from it.  Makes me think about how I can maximize my closet for the fall and winter.  Gotta love those black tights during the winter months!

Vintage English Lace Wedding

Monday, November 15th, 2010

A best friend sent this wedding my way (she said, “this is so you!”), and I’m so glad she did.  I love the bride’s veil and I’m definitely loving all the lace!  If I could get married all over again (to my husband, of course) and have the wedding of my dreams, this would be it.  Ceremony at a small chapel in the English countryside and a reception in a big tent with all our family and close friends.  And that veil and dress!  What a lovely and gorgeous bride and wedding.
