These holiday cards by Jordan Ferney are extremely beautiful. The watercolors and letterpress truly compliment each other. What a lovely and memorable holiday card.

Loving the styling and colors of this shoot by Chelsea Fuss (of frolic!) for Project Wedding. This would make a lovely table for a new years party!

Sorry for the extra day of absence from Monday, but I had a good reason… we got 2 feet of snow from a blizzard! The winds were incredibly strong and made large snow drifts and patterns in the snow. Today was a much nicer day with a clear blue sky and bright sun (although still chilly and windy), but I was able to get out and take some nice photos.

Hope you all had a lovely Christmas if you celebrated it!

I’m going to take the next few days off to spend time with family: baking cookies, having a family dinner and making a roast beef, wrapping presents, watching Christmas movies, and just relaxing, laughing and enjoying life. I’ll also be enjoying some of the snow that fell this week, giving us a real White Christmas.
If you’re celebrating, I hope you have a magical Christmas holiday with your loved ones!
Best wishes,
Colleen

Happy Winter Solstice! Finally, the daylight hours will start to become longer each and everyday, and as someone who typically runs outside after work I cannot tell you how excited about this I am! For it to be completely dark at 4 pm everyday just kills me.
I’ve never thought of celebrating the solstice, but I’ve loved the traditions SouleMama and her family have for this day and think it’s something I’d like to incorporate in my family someday. Check here for 2008′s SouleMama winter solstice post.
Also, a hearty congrats to her and her family on the wee-one on it’s way. That will make 5 children! I’ve got my hat off to her for blogging everyday, writing multiple books, photographing, running her own little household farm, making so much by hand (clothing and food), and being a full-time mama. What a woman!

Loving this Christmas table decor from Sitting in a Tree (via 100 Layer Cake). The colors are non-traditional (not the same old green & red or red & gold) but are so festive and bright! And I LOVE that dress.

If you live in the NYC area, then you’re very lucky indeed! Amy Merrick from An Apple a Day will be leading a winter wreath making workshop offered by design*sponge. From the photos released so far, it looks like it’s going to be absolutely heavenly! I would LOVE to make my own holiday wreath but don’t live nearby. What a fun thing to do before the holidays to get you in the cheery spirit! Sign up while there are still spots left.

A sneak peek at some photos from Rifle’s grand opening last month. I can’t wait for more photos to come! I’m such a big fan of Anna’s work.

LOVING the newly opened Stripe & Field (formerly Black Pearl Press). It’s obvious they’ve been fastidiously working on this new venture and it shows. Definitely check out the new website.
