Springtime in Paris

Friday, February 25th, 2011

As I type, there’s more snow falling outside my window.  Ugh.  I am thoroughly done with winter.  I am dying to see green again and not have it be under 30 degrees F.  These photos of Paris in the springtime are warming my cold, little New England yankee soul.

Oh springtime!  Le sigh.

Audubon-Inspired Invites

Thursday, February 24th, 2011

When I came across these invites, my heart skipped a beat.  How insanely beautiful are those Audubon book liners and handwritten typopgraphy?  Check out the wedding website as well which compliments it perfectly.  Fantastic work from Sideshow Press.

Heart Brownies

Tuesday, February 22nd, 2011

This might be a week late (with the hearts and all) but I’d still love to make this.  Brownies are one of my top ten weaknesses.

Suburb

Monday, February 21st, 2011

Hello friends, sorry for my absence.  I rarely get sick anymore but unfortunately that flu really threw me off my feet.  I’m still not myself but at least I can function again, thank goodness.  Hope you all have been well in the meantime!

I love this new image from Camilla Engman, don’t you?

Under the Weather

Tuesday, February 15th, 2011

I’m writing this while I still have 5 more minutes of energy before I have to go lie down again…  I’ve got the dreaded flu and I always forget how horrible it is until I get it (which luckily isn’t that often, every 2-3 years).  I’m not sure if I’ll be posting tomorrow or Thursday, but I’ll see how I feel.  I’m off to make a cuppa tea with lemon, and I think to make me feel somewhat better it’s going to be in the good tea china.

BHLDN

Monday, February 14th, 2011

Gah!  I don’t know what else to say, because I’m completely head-over-heels crazy-in-love with Anthro’s new wedding site BHLDN!  Oh, how much I wish I was planning a wedding so I could own one of these lovelies.  Everything is incredible, the dresses, gowns, accessories, lingerie, and jewelry.

I think my head just exploded.  Completely overwhelmed by gorgeous things.

By the way, Happy Valentine’s Day!

Happy Weekend!

Friday, February 11th, 2011

I’ve been slowly (I emphasize the “slowly” part) organizing and cleaning my workspace/studio that I share with my husband, and this weekend I’d love to get my inspiration board finished and done.  I’ve got some project details that I need to wrap up and a winter’s farmers market to attend… yipee!

What will you be working on or doing this weekend?

AS220

Thursday, February 10th, 2011

Today I finalized my membership to AS220 (a fantastic non-profit community arts space in Providence, RI); specifically I’ll be a member of the Print Shop.  I’ll be able to reserve time to use their Vandercook press, and I cannot tell you how excited and happy I am about this.  Although I own a small table top press, to be able to use a gorgeous press like a Vandercook for professional and personal projects will be a dream.  Secondly, I really wanted to join a cooperative space like this because although I am a little timid to meet the over 300 other members, I think it will be great for me to meet other printers and be part of a community of artists.  They also have screenprinting, intaglio, and etching facilities as well so I’d love to take a few workshops in other mediums.  I already have a few freelance projects lined up and ready, so with this membership I am eager and ready to get my fingers inked up again.  Last year was quite dismal for me creatively and I’m very much looking forward to the new experiences that await me here and sharing them with you!
