Breakfast in the Garden

Wednesday, March 30th, 2011

Loving these images from Belle fleur de lis of her breakfast in the garden.  This literally looks like my piece of heaven.

Ahh, I wish spring would come here soon enough already!  And we’re suppose to get up to 6 inches of snow outside and my crocus are in bloom… sheesh, New England.

Thank You!

Friday, March 25th, 2011

I just wanted to take a moment to thank you to everyone who donated to With Love from Japan’s fundraising efforts during last week’s Blogging Day of Silence.  Their initial goal was to raise $5,500 and thus far (*this number will change right after I post this) they have raised over $58,500 for ShelterBox!!  This is proof that together we all can make a big difference in the lives of others.

Donations are still being accepted and no amount is too small.  Thank you all so much for helping!

Happy weekend everyone.
xoxo

Snug Harbor Terrariums

Thursday, March 24th, 2011

Click here to watch a cute little “video” of snapshots of how to make a terrarium from Snug Harbor Farm.  I finally found where I put my glass jars so I will definitely try making some again this spring.  I definitely want those cute little mushrooms for mine!

Ashley & Troy’s Invitations

Wednesday, March 23rd, 2011

Last month I was able to work with a colleague and friend on letterpress printing her wedding invitations.  Ashley designed the invite and all of the components and I love how the quirky, hand-drawn type really sets the mood for their wedding which is sure to a fun, memorable celebration.  The invitation is mounted inside a diagonal enclosure, with a letterpressed cover and a pocket for the RSVP and other materials.  The theme of the wedding is art and music, and the invitations were sent out with a CD inside the pocket enclosure as well.  I was really pleased with how Ashley’s design printed and can’t wait to hear all about her wedding details (*I know of some but I think she wants them to be a surprise for her guests!).

If you’re interested in more of Ashley’s design work, please contact her here.

Britt Browne Valentines

Tuesday, March 22nd, 2011

Although it’s a month late, just found these lovely valentines by Britt Browne which were inspired by ones from the 1800′s.  Love the simplicity.

For Japan with Love

Thursday, March 17th, 2011

I came across For Japan with Love, a Blogging Day of Silence organized by Ever Ours and Utterly Engaged, and wanted to participate.  I’ve been overwhelmed with shock and sadness for the people of Japan and wasn’t sure what I could do, only one person in a country far from the disaster.  In my own small way, I can participate with so many others to owe our respects to Japan for the incredible amount of loss within families and communities.

I greatly encourage you to donate to ShelterBox, the non-profit organization that will be accepting donations on behalf of For Japan with Love.  ShelterBox provides kits that contain a disaster relief tent with blankets, water storage and purification equipment, cooking utensils, and many other vital items for a family.  Please remember that any amount helps!

While I’m not blogging on Friday I hope that you are able to donate.  Also consider taking time from your day to think of, pray, or whatever feels comfortable to you to remember that we’re all here on this planet together and the people of Japan need our help and support.
