Nine Cakes

Wednesday, September 7th, 2011

I love cake, don’t get me wrong… but sometimes I feel like wedding cakes just start to look like one another.  Nine Cake’s work really stood out to me.  I love how some of those flowers look like crepe paper!

Ashley & Troy’s Wedding

Thursday, August 25th, 2011

My great friends Leo and Leah filmed and edited this video for our friends Ashley and Troy (you might remember their wedding invitations).  It came out so great, and this is just the rough cut!  Can’t wait to see the finished version.

Check out Bonarrigo Weddings and their photography and film work here.

BHLDN Table Decor

I cannot stop looking at this one page on BHLDN.  So much inspiration for color, texture, and pattern.  Seriously, I’ve been flipping through here for a few days now!

Colleen & Paul’s Wedding Invitations

Monday, August 22nd, 2011

I’m so pleased to share with you the wedding invitation suite for my dear friends Colleen & Paul.  I’ve been lucky to be able to print their save-the-dates and both shower invitations (here and here), and was so excited to see the design for their wedding invites.  Everything was designed and illustrated by the bride and groom (both are amazing artists) and I letterpress printed the suite in a dark charcoal and an apple green.  The lovely calligraphy is by the bride (she is so talented!).

The invitation suite arrived wrapped in twine and stacked with the invite on top, in the middle an information card with cartography border illustrations, then on the bottom a map and directions card with an anchor and key border illustration (did I mention the hand-drawn map, too?).  It was such a great project to work on, and it was for people I love = the best.

It’s almost September and that means the wedding is just around the corner!  Seriously cannot wait.

Photos with Studio Nouveau

Thursday, July 28th, 2011

Last Tuesday, my husband and I had the pleasure of being models for our friend Lara’s photography class (Lara is a co-owner of Studio Nouveau).  It was a little intimidating at first, staring into each others eyes and kissing countless times in front of the entire class, and in downtown Boston no less.  But my husband said later on that it felt like we were dating again, and it honestly was a lot of fun.  The biggest treat of all was seeing Lara’s amazing work from that day; the photos of us are stunning and mean so much to us (especially since a lot of our wedding photos didn’t come out the way I had hoped).  I basically want to frame every single one of these… I don’t know how I’ll choose just a few.  Listen to me, if you’re in the New England area and you need a photographer, you need to look at Studio Nouveau!

Cake Stand & Flags

Wednesday, July 20th, 2011

I know it’s been done a million times before, but I will never tire of a cake in a glass-enclosed cake stand with tiny pendant flags.  Never.

Colleen’s Bridal Shower Invitations

Thursday, July 7th, 2011

I had been eagerly awaiting to show you my good friend Colleen’s second bridal shower invitations, and I realized this past weekend that I had yet to do so!  It was a pleasure to work with Colleen’s future mom-in-law and the overall design is simple and modern, perfect for the venue where the shower was held.  Can’t wait to get working on Colleen & Paul’s wedding invitations later on this summer!

Save the Dates – Mae Mae Paperie

Thursday, June 9th, 2011

Really love the combination of coral, emerald green and minty blue in this save the date set by Mae Mae Paperie.  Perfectly fresh colors for summer!

Sarah & Brandon

Wednesday, May 18th, 2011

Such a cute newly wedded couple!  Sarah and Brandon’s Newfoundland winter wedding was put together with lots of love and these photos show it.  Love the image of them outside by the pine trees… thinking of inspiration for my cousin’s late November wedding coming up later this year!

Philippa & James

Tuesday, May 10th, 2011

Such a gorgeous British wedding (via 100 Layer Cake)!  The bride wore two dresses (the one shown here was at the reception and majorly swoon-worthy!).  Especially love the location and the potted lavender.  What a lovely couple!
